John Collins has been organist at St. George’s, Worthing since June 1984. Special research and performing interests include the Iberian, Italian and English keyboard repertoires from ca1500-1800 and recently he has been exploring pieces by living composers in which older forms are combined with modern tonal language. He publishes articles and reviews of scores and CDs in English, American and European Journals and assists David Patrick of Fitzjohn Music in editing and publishing English 18th century Voluntaries. Last month he gave a lecture on, and recital of English organ music on the newly restored 1735 organ at Christ Church, Spitalfields for the British Institute of Organ Studies..
John will be playing pieces by living composers at St. Botolph’s, Heene on January 30th at 7pm as part of the recital by the Worthing Chamber Choir, and an organ recital at the Chapel Royal, Brighton on March 1st at 1pm.
